Dear Brother

Greetings in Jesus name. Is it possible to donate us a copy of “Reading the Bible through the new testament eyes” to our preterist bible school in South Africa as we are studying the Preterist view. Our weak currency makes it difficult to purchase in dollars. I also teach bible school to a lot of disadvantaged people freely. These books are not available at Christian bookstores in S.A.  Your help in this donation to our Christian library and Bible school would be highly appreciated and beneficial to us.

Dear brother Alan,

It's Ralph from the Netherlands. I don't know if you still remember me, but we hath some months ago contact
concerning preterism and your book that you would write. I just saw that it has been published (Reading the Bible Through New Covenant Eyes) and it's really great to read that! I wrote in that time that I am very much limited financially and can't afford book and shipping from the U.S. to the Netherlands.

Here in the Netherlands, there are no good books on prterism, so i was really looking foreward to order and to read your book. I don't know if it is possible for you, but can you maybe help me with a copy of your book? If is not possible for you i understand, and the only thing i can do is pay for the shipping/postage if cannot be otherwise.
I hope to hear from you and may the Lord God bless you and your ministry.

Alan,

I am just about halfway through the book. Thus, I will try to post in each Discussion section as it pertains to the individual chapters. Hopefully my thoughts will encourage you and add some measure of edification.

As I read the introduction I constantly found myself shaking my head in a sad agreement. Nebulous phrases like "I'm not so much concerned with doctrine; I'm more concerned with loving Jesus" are rampant in our self-absorbed culture. These people do not realize that their own statement is non-sensical and self-refuting. After all, "loving Jesus" is saturated in doctrine because
it is doctrine.

Free will'ism (a term that is undefinable, save some esoteric philosophical, extra-Biblical definition) teaches that "God loved *YOU* sooooo much, that He gave Jesus up for you." When in fact God loves Himself so much that He created a people to exalt and magnify Him in their sin and in their salvation. So whether reprobate or redeemed, each person is a tool in the hands of an amazing and infinite God. This stands in stark opposition to what you rightly point out in the introduction.

As a result of this pestilence within postmodern Christendom the idea of covenants, much less a covenant redemption, is foreign.

I think you point out with an incredible clarity the problem within our culture in relation to proper hermeneutics. The idea of properly exegeting pronouns is unheard of. Historical context? Cultural context? Continuity in regards to what God's plan has *always* been?

I'm very appreciative of this book, Alan. I am ordering 2 more copies for a couple of friends whom I've had conversations with about these things. I praise our sovereign Lord for men like you.

We are greatly encouraged by AD70.net. I have listened to many programs and like: 2 Guys and A Bible, They Journey with Joseph Vincent, Victory Words with Larry Siegle, and New Covenant Eyes (and the music is great too!).

Thank you for what you are doing. We are in a small town (2000 people) and find it difficult to grow in our new preterist perspective. It is difficult to attend the Baptist church and “endure” the futurist teachings. And are frankly, “petrified” to talk about the preterist view with anybody at the Baptist church.

We have share with a few family members and have encountered “distance” and “heresy” experiences (if you know what I mean). We still crave fellowship. We do have 4 families that meet in Wichita every other month or so. But, now, with AD70, we are able to feel connected to the “body of Christ” in our preterist view.

Thanks for all you are doing,

- Shelly and Curtis, Kansas
